Gili Trawangan is the largest of three small islands just off the north-west corner of Lombok – the island just east of Bali in Indonesia. All are part of the famed “Coral Triangle” and one of the world’s richest locations for scuba diving. There are no motorized vehicles on the Gili Islands and the main means of transportation are bicycles and cidomos (small horse-drawn carriages).

Blue Marlin Dive Centre on Gili Trawangan is the longest-established dive centre on the island – founded in the 1990’s by owner and avid diver, Simon Liddiard – a PADI Course Director and renowned technical diver. This year Simon and their staff celebrate 25 years in the diving industry.

Blue Marlin Dive on Gili Trawangan has developed over the years from a PADI Dive Centre to become an award winning PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Resort with a reputation for pioneering diving in the Gili Islands. In 2011 Blue Marlin also became a PADI TecRec technical diving facility and in April 2014, were awarded PADI Green Star status for their commitment to protecting and conserving the environment.

In addition to their flagship operation on Gili Trawangan – Blue Marlin Dive also have PADI 5 Star Dive Shops on Gili Meno, Senggigi – Lombok and Blue Marlin Komodo at Labuan Bajo, Flores. The company now operates 12 boats and employs 175 local people, operating not only dive centres but also restaurants and accommodation on the Gilis.
