Another group of Royal Gurkha Rifles visit Borneo!

A group of brave and fearless Royal Gurkha Rifles of the British Army visited Dive Downbelow Marine & Wildlife Adventures – premier PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre on Gaya Island in Borneo recently – to rest and relax from their services and learn the awesome sport of scuba diving!

The team of experienced PADI Instructors from Dive Downbelow conducted the PADI Open Water Course for the soldiers, providing them with adventure training and team building. Not that the Gurkhas don’t get enough team building opportunities – however, experiencing something new is exciting and scuba diving is certainly that!

Teaching the PADI Open Water Diver course to the group of Royal Gurkha Rifles was so rewarding for the team of PADI Instructors. Camaraderie during dive activities helps when learning a new skill and teamwork is easy because of it too!

The underwater world is an alien environment for the Royal Gurkha Rifles and Dive Downbelow’s dive professionals provided an unforgettable experience, giving them the confidence to continue their dive education in future!

“We value the Gurkhas visit to our island-based dive centre because everyone involved in the program appreciates the exposure to the intricacies of a completely different culture”, says Joanne Swann, PADI Master Instructor and Director of Dive Downbelow.

“Everyone at Downbelow is looking forward to diving with the Royal Gurkha Rifles when on their next adventure trip to Borneo!”
