Researchers have long suspected that Thresher Sharks use their tail — which makes up half of their body length — like a whip to stun their prey and the video below teaches you more about how they use this unique hunting method.
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and underwater videographer Klemens Gann filmed this footage of Thresher Sharks hunting in big shoals of sardines in Moalbol, Philippines. Marine biologists in the Philippines and the United Kingdom then analysed the footage to prove the longstanding theory that Thresher Sharks really do hunt with their tails.
