The ancient Cuttlefish, a fascinating marine creature that has been around for over 500 million years, has been joyously filmed during a breeding aggregation in Whyalla, South Australia.
This part of the Australia is a well-known and popular place for Cuttlefish to breed and humans to witness. Although mysteriously disappearing over the past two years, marine biologists, divers and locals are happy to see that the Cuttlefish have return to Whyalla to breed.
The above video was taken by Adam and Krystle who operate A & K Diving – Underwater Photography, and have many fantastic videos that showcase diving this part of Australia.
Divers and snorkelers only need to swim or look down a few metres of water to watch the incredible show of flirtation, courtship and mating. It’s a remarkable sight, made better by knowing just how interesting Cuttlefish are.
