In our featured video of the week, we get ready for next month’s Big Blue World Cup Freediving Competition.
Championship freediver, Estrella Navarro, has had a busy last couple months. In early September. she won the Silver Medal for Mexico at the AIDA Individual Depth World Championship, held in Limassol, Cyprus. At the same tournament, she also set a new record for Mexico, reaching a depth of 70 meters with a monofin.
She’s not taking a break yet. Next month, Estrella will be hosting the first annual Big Blue World Cup Freediving Competition. The competition will take place from November 1 to 9, bringing some of the world’s elite freedivers to La Paz, Mexico. Estrella is organizing the event in her home country. She will also speaking about shark tourism at the event’s conference to promote ocean conservation.
