Technical diving means going beyond recreational scuba diving limits. But, tec divers will tell you that it’s really about the challenge and adventure of exploring places that no one else has ever seen.
PADI 5 Star Dive Resort, Two Fish Divers, have recently expanded their operations to Amed, Indonesia focusing on technical diving.
Two Fish Tec Amed, the first to be based in the north of Bali, offers a wide range of PADI TecRec courses, starting from the one day Discover Tec, taught in both sidemount and backmount configurations, to a range of decompression diving courses to the limits of air diving at 50 metres.
“Whilst the dive sites around Tulamben and Amed are well frequented by recreational divers, not many have been beyond 30 – 40 metres. There are great opportunities to see pelagic species at greater depths and further explore the reef walls.” says Two Fish’s General Manager Nigel Thomas.
“Close by, we are spoilt for choice with deeper sites in both Amed and Tulamben to conduct decompression dives. Amed itself is easily reached from Denpasar airport, but at the same time offers divers a taste of ‘real Bali’. The area is growing as a centre for technical diving in Indonesia making it the ideal place for our expansion.“
