1. Covi
PADI Dive Center: Dive Zone Tauranga
Location: New Zealand
Like many dogs on our list, Covi is an unofficial emotional support dog. At Dive Zone Tauranga, this attentive pup is responsible for greeting new divers and making sure everyone feels at ease before the day’s adventure begins. Covi joined the team as a four-month-old puppy shortly after New Zealand’s COVID lockdown restrictions were lifted.
Beyond welcoming divers, Covi also enjoys attending first aid courses, enthusiastically volunteering whenever emergency scenarios require a nearby “crowd” during role-playing exercises.
Visitors may also discover that a favorite part of this pup’s job is celebrating newly certified divers, as Covi is always ready to join in with the excitement.
2. Baby
PADI Dive Center: Dolphin Explorer
Location: Singapore
Not every dive shop dog spends all day at the dive center. Baby, better known throughout Singapore’s diving community as “Scuba Dog,” is a regular passenger on dive trips to the nearby waters of Pulau Hantu.
When she’s not out on the boat, Baby is perfectly happy posing for group photos, collecting cuddles and greeting anyone who walks through the door with an enthusiastic wag of her tail.

Location: New Hampshire, USA
Louie’s superpower is his built-in, person-needing-comfort detector, making him the ideal dive shop dog. In recognition of this remarkable talent, he’s officially earned the titles of Senior Shop Dog, Chief Greeter and Professional Hug Distributor.
Perhaps Louie’s greatest quality is his calming presence. Whether someone is feeling nervous before a dive or a lively group needs a little help settling down, Louie is always there with a gentle nudge, a wagging tail or one of his near-compulsory welcome and goodbye hugs.
5. Amie
PADI Dive Center: Andy’s Scuba Diving
Location: Phuket, Thailand
While most dive shop dogs spend their days lifting people’s spirits, Amie’s story began with someone lifting hers – by rescuing her.
Seven years ago, she was abandoned in the jungles of Thailand before finding a forever home at Andy’s Scuba Diving. Today, her gentle personality and affectionate nature make her one of the most loved members of the team, with many visitors remembering Amie just as fondly as the diving.
6. Sammy
PADI Dive Center: Sierra Madre Divers
Location: Bohol, Philippines
It’s common for dive shop dogs to love the water, but Sammy may actually be more comfortable swimming than walking.
Practically part fish, this energetic pup loves nothing more than gliding around the pool with seemingly endless energy. And when he’s not showing off in the water, Sammy’s favorite activity is chasing divers around after they’ve finished their pool training sessions.
7. Chug
PADI Dive Center: Sunshine Scuba
Location: Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
Whether you’re returning from the best dive of your life or a day of challenging conditions, Chug the Chihuahua-Pug understands the value of a good post-dive cuddle.
Tiny in size but enormous in personality, this lovable little dog has an impressive ability to banish post-dive fatigue one cuddle at a time.

8. Archer
PADI Dive Center: Sam’s Dive Tours
Location: Palau
Archer’s story is another that could have ended very differently.
Before becoming a beloved member of the team at Sam’s Dive Tours, Archer was rescued from the streets of Koror after suffering serious injuries. It was later discovered that he is almost completely deaf, meaning communication with Archer happens primarily through hand signals.
None of these obstacles have slowed him down. Archer quickly became a much-loved member of the team, welcoming divers and fellow four-legged visitors alike.
Beyond the dive shop, Archer has even taken on the important role of first mate. Like any good crew member, he insists on being onboard whenever the boat leaves the dock.
9. Jib
PADI Dive Center: Blue Salt Divers
Location: St Croix, USVI
An expert escape artist, Jib was surrendered more than once because he had a habit of wandering off in search of adventure. It turns out he was simply looking for the right home.
Today, Jib has all the freedom he could ever want, yet chooses to spend his time exactly where he’s happiest, at Blue Salt Divers. Every now and then, he’ll even join divers out on the boat.
Since arriving, Jib has firmly established himself as the shop’s “Fun Supervisor” and “Professional Hugger.” He’s even inspired his own range of stickers and T-shirts.
10. Milo
PADI Dive Center: Blue Adventures
Location: Crete, Greece
The team at Blue Adventures believe Milo is every bit as important to the dive center as the human staff, making him an essential part of the guest experience.
