Scuba diving is an excellent way to meet new people. You can show up in any dive shop completely alone and feel right at home surrounded by others with your same passions. But there’s nothing quite like sharing what you love with the people you love. That’s why we’ve recently launched a refer-a-friend program on padi.com.

Refer a Friend

If you want to share the joy of scuba diving with your loved ones, Refer a Friend on padi.com to give them 20% off their PADI Open Water Diver eLearning course. Best of all, you get a gift, too – a free 30-day PADI Club™ trial membership. That way, you both get rewarded and have fun in the process!

We asked some of our PADI Ambassadivers who they would share their “Refer a Friend” link with. This is what they told us.

Isidora Dekalo-Baron, PADI AmbassaDiver, holds a regulator in her mouth on the surface of the ocean

Isidora Dekalo-Baron – Bulgaria

I use my diving adventures to inspire divers to discover new destinations and travelers to take the plunge and fall in love with the beauty of the underwater world. I would love for my best friend Polly to become a diver so that we can go on even more trips together and because I am sure that this is an experience she will truly cherish!”

We’ll have to keep our eyes peeled to see Isidora and Polly’s underwater adventures very soon!

Kayleigh Slowey, PADI AmbassaDiver, holds a pair of fins on the beach

Kayleigh Slowey – United Kingdom

Despite the name, you can share your personal discount link with more than your friends. For example, you can get your partner hooked on diving, like Kayleigh. Make sure you never run out of fun adventures to embark on together!

Diving lets me explore the ocean’s beauty, and I’d love to share that with my partner, Brady. He grew up landlocked, without the sea in his life and wasn’t always keen on colder waters. But after moving to Cornwall, he found a love for the ocean through surfing and snorkeling. Now, getting him certified is the next step, as it opens up a whole new underwater world for us to explore together. I can’t wait for Brady to experience the magic beneath the surface as a PADI diver.

Samantha Raines, PADI AmbassaDiver, takes a selfie while scuba diving

Samantha Raines – Australia

Don’t forget about your family. You don’t want them to get jealous, so sign them up to get their gills wet, too. That way, they can never complain about your never-ending stories from your dive trips, because they’ll be joining you. The more the merrier!

I’ve always loved the ocean, but each dive beneath the surface fills me with a profound sense of wonder at the vast and vibrant underwater world, a sensation often called oceanic awe or the Oceanview effect. Diving reveals a whole new realm where I can marvel at the reefs, listen to their unique sounds, and enjoy the experience of weightlessness. I’d love for my sisters, Alex and Sarah, to experience this too and join me as PADI divers.

Jessica Pita – South Africa

Of course, you want to share your passion for scuba with your loved ones so that they can discover the joy of the underwater world for themselves. But, one perk of being able to create your own dive buddies is that you can expand on your adventures together.

I am PADI’s first South African qualified adaptive scuba diver and AmbassaDiver, and I am glad to say that scuba diving has become a huge part of my world. It’s crazy to think of how many adventures I have managed to experience within the world of the blue waters, seeing the underwater world through my tactile signals and discovering new ways to make life all the more thrilling.

I would love my brother to conquer the fear of being so far underwater and become my dive buddy. We have the best time trying new adventures, and I feel like this would be one to add to our checklist. None of my family dive; thus, if one starts, who knows… They need to seek adventure and save the ocean just like me and so many others.

Katt Andrysokova – Switzerland

When you start diving, you can’t help but start caring about the marine environment. That’s why so many PADI divers, like Katt, get involved in conservation projects. And the more people we get diving and loving the underwater world, the more protectors it will have in the future.

Loving our oceans is our best way to protect them, and the best way to truly fall in love with our oceans is to dive beneath the waves. The future generation needs all of us to care about our blue planet, so I believe that high school students and young adults should all give breathing bubbles a try.

India Black – United Kingdom

The ocean soothes the body, the mind, and the soul. That’s why India would refer anyone who’s afraid of the ocean, so it can shift their perspective and open up new ways of healing. She’d also refer her mum, Katie, because who wouldn’t want to dive with their mom?

There are so many different reasons why I love to dive. I find it’s a way to ground myself, connect more closely to nature, understand the underwater world better, and it’s a FAB mindfulness exercise… but really – it’s a glorified excuse for me to be able to spend the day out on the ocean watching my favorite marine life and pretending to be a mermaid. I’d love to refer anyone who’s a little afraid of the ocean. I have spoken to so many people who have said how diving completely changed their view of the water, and I think it’s just such a healing place that everybody deserves access to. I’m going to refer my mum, Katie, though! She’s a little hesitant, but I think it would be so cool for her to give it a go!
