PADI is looking to create a team of young ambassadors to:
- Promote ocean adventure
- Support marine conservation
- Engage and strengthen local diving communities
- And inspire more people to explore the ocean
The PADI Junior AmbassaDiver™ program is a new initiative launching in 2025. The program is part of PADI’s global commitment to creating positive ocean change through scuba diving, freediving, mermaiding, and conservation courses. Passionate young divers between ages 10 and 17 are welcome to apply to become one of the first PADI Junior AmbassaDivers!

Everything You Need To Know About the PADI Junior AmbassaDiver Program
PADI Junior AmbassaDivers are in demand, which is good news for anyone who wants to become an ocean or scuba diving advocate. To apply, the applicant or their sponsor will need to fill in a short, online survey. The process is similar to the adult application process for the PADI AmbassaDiver program.
Confident and outgoing children and teenagers are ideal candidates to become Junior AmbassaDivers. However, what matters most is how the potential candidates inspire others to try diving and be a voice for the ocean.

The Benefits of Being a Junior AmbassaDiver
The first ever Junior Ambassadivers will have PADI’s full support to:
- Create awareness about your scuba diving and conservation activities
- Connect you with like-minded individuals (other AmbassaDivers)
- Involve you in PADI campaigns, events and initiatives
You’ll develop communication, leadership, and management skills that will help you in your academic, personal, and professional journey. You’ll also be part of a community that sees the world as you do, helping you find a sense of purpose, connection, and even belonging.
What Is the Role of a Junior PADI Ambassadiver?
As a Junior AmbassaDiver, you’ll lead by example and champion PADI’s mission to get more people to seek adventure, through diving, freediving and mermaiding, and to save the ocean, through conservation initiatives.
How you approach the role is entirely up to you — just be yourself. Show your unique personality to authentically inspire, influence, and lead other people to get involved in exploring and protecting our oceans.
While we can debate endlessly whether diving is a sport or a hobby, at the end of the day, it’s about enjoying what you do. So have fun!
